இராமாயணம் - 26

சுந்தர காண்டம்

எஸ்.ராஜம் வால்மீகி ராமாயண நூலிற்கு வரைந்த ஓவியங்களில் ஏழாம் ஓவியத்தைப் பார்ப்போம். அதற்குப் பொருத்தமான கம்பனின் பாடலையும் பார்ப்போம். இந்த நூல் ( இரண்டாம் பதிப்பு) கலைமகள் ஆசிரியர் நாராயணசாமி ஐயரால் 1958 -இல் வெளியிடப் பட்டது.

அந்த நூலில் மேலே உள்ள ராஜம் அவர்களின் படத்தின் அடியில் வால்மீகியின் இந்த ஸ்லோகம் காணப் படுகிறது.

वानरोऽहं महाभागे दूतो रामस्य धीमतः।

रामनामाङ्कितं चेदं पश्य देव्यङ्गुलीयकम्

"O noble lady I am a vanara, an envoy of learned Rama. You see this ring with Rama's name inscribed on it, O godlike lady"

கம்பன்

"மீட்டும் உரை வேண்டுவன இல்லை" என, "மெய்ப் பேர்

தீட்டியது; தீட்டஅரிய செய்கையது; செவ்வே,

நீட்டு இது" என,நேர்ந்தனன்' எனா, நெடிய கையால்,

காட்டினன் ஓர்ஆழி; அது வாள் நுதலி கண்டாள்.

மீட்டும் உரைவேண்டுவன இல்லை என - திரும்பவும் யான் கூற

வேண்டியவை இல்லை என்று;

மெய்ப்பேர் தீட்டியது - உண்மைப் பேர் பொறிக்கப்பட்டதும்;

தீட்டரிய செய்கையது - எழுத முடியாத வேலைப்பாடு பெற்றதும்;

(ஆன) இது - இந்தத் திருவாழி;

செவ்வே நீட்டு என - செவ்வையாய் அமைந்த திருமுகம் என்று கூறி;

(இராமபிரான்) நேர்ந்தனன் - என்பால் வழங்கினான்;

எனா - என்று கூறி (அனுமன்);

நெடிய கையால் - நீண்ட கைகளில்;

ஓர் ஆழி - ஒப்பற்ற மோதிரத்தை;

காட்டினன் - காண்பித்தான்;

அது - அந்த மோதிரத்தை;

வாள் நுதலி - ஒளிமிக்க நெற்றியை உடைய பிராட்டி;

கண்டாள் - பார்த்தாள்.
