2248. ஓவிய உலா - 33

 பொன்னியின் செல்வன் -2 : சந்திராவா, மணியமா?

  சரித்திரப் புதினம் ஒன்றைக் 'கல்கி' எழுத மாட்டாரா என்று ஏங்கியிருந்த என்னைப் போன்றவர்களுக்கு ஓர் இன்ப அதிர்ச்சியாய் வந்தது மேற்கண்ட விளம்பரம். 1950-இல் 'கல்கி' ஆகஸ்ட் இதழொன்றில். 

'ஓ சந்திராவா? ' என்று பேசிக் கொண்டோம். 'எப்போது தொடங்குமோ?' என்றும் எதிர்பார்ப்பு. திடீரென்று ஓர் இடி போல் அக்டோபர் 1 இதழில் இன்னொரு விளம்பரம்.

'ஐயோ, அவ்வளவு நாள் கழித்தா?' என்று ஏங்கினோம்.

உடனே, அடுத்த இதழிலேயே எங்களுக்கு ஓர் ஆறுதல் போல் இன்னொரு விளம்பரம்.

"அக்டோபரிலேயே? அப்பாடா! " என்று மகிழ்ந்தோம். 

'ஆமாம், இப்போது தானே 'பொய்மான் கரடு' க்குச் சந்திரா வரைந்து முடித்திருக்கிறார்? இப்போது 'மணியம்' டர்ன் இல்லையோ?" என்றான் ஒரு நண்பன். கணக்குச் செய்தோம். முக்கியமாக, நீண்ட 'அலையோசைக்கு'ச் சந்திரா. குறுகிய 'மோகினித் தீவுக்கு' மணியம்.  பின்னர் ஆகஸ்ட்டில் தான்  சந்திரா வரைந்த  'பொய்மான் கரடு' முடிந்தது. இப்போது 'மணியம்' அல்லவா வரைய வேண்டும்? 

கல்கியின் தொடக்கக் காலத்திலிருந்தே 'சந்திராவு'வுக்கும் , 'மணிய'த்திற்கும் ஓர் ஆரோக்கியமான போட்டி இருந்தது. பலரும் அறிவர். இந்தக் கட்டத்தில் , என்ன நடந்தது என்று பல வருடங்கள் கழித்துத் தான் எனக்குத் தெரிய வந்தது.

அவற்றைப் பற்றி எழுதிய கி.ராஜேந்திரனின் வார்த்தைகளிலேயே படிக்கலாம்!

 சந்திராவின் 'பொன்னியின் செல்வன்' விளம்பரங்கள் 'கல்கி'யில்  வந்தபின், கலங்கிய கண்களுடன் ஆசிரியர் 'கல்கி'யிடம் வந்தார் 'மணியம்'. 

" என்ன? என்ன?" என்றார் கல்கி. 

"அலை ஓசை பெரிய நாவல். தொடர்ந்து பல வருஷங்கள் அதற்கு சந்திரா படம் வரைந்திருக்கிறார். 'பொன்னியின் செல்வன்' பெரிய நாவலாக திட்டமிட்டிருகிறீர்கள். அடுத்து அதற்கு நான்தானே படம் வரையணும்?" என்று கேட்டார் மணியம். அவர் நா தழுதழுத்து விட்டது. 

கல்கி அவரை மேலும் கீழுமாய்ப்  பார்த்தார் ; 'சரி, அட்டைப் படம் போட்டுக் கொண்டு வா" என்று குந்தவையும் வந்தியத் தேவனும் பழையாறையில் சந்திக்கும் காட்சியை விவரிக்க ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டார்."

அடுத்த நாள், ஏதோ வேலையாய் கல்கி காரியாலயம் சென்ற ராஜேந்திரன் சந்திராவின் மேஜையை அணுகியபோது, சந்திரா, " போடா, போ! நீயுமாச்சு, உன் அப்பாவுமாச்சு! போ! போ" என்று விரட்டினாராம். இதைப் பற்றிப் பின்னர் கேள்விப்பட்ட கல்கி, " போனால் போறது போ! அவன் கோபப் பட்டதிலும் ஒரு நியாயம் இருக்கிறது" என்று சமாதானம் சொன்னாராம் கல்கி.

இப்படிப் பிறந்தது தான் இந்தப் பிரபலமான அட்டைப் படம்.

'கல்கியின் பட விளக்கமும் எங்களைக் கவர்ந்தது.

இப்படித் தொடங்கியது மணியம் அவர்களின் 'பொன்னியின் செல்வன்' ஓவிய உலா.  

எங்களுக்குக் குஷிதான்! வாரா வாரம் 'கல்கி-மணியம்' விருந்தைச் சுவைத்து வந்தோம். நாட்டில் மேலும் பலரும் நாவலை ரசிக்கிறார்கள் என்பது 'கல்கி' 50 தீபாவளிக்குப் பின் 'கல்கி'யில் எழுதிய ஒரு குறிப்பிலிருந்தே தெரிய வந்தது. ( பலரும் இதைப் படித்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.) "பொன்னியின் செல்வன் சரித்திரம் அல்ல; சரித்திரக் கதைதான்" என்று அடித்து எழுதுகிறார் கல்கி ---- அன்றே! 

                                             

                                              

                                            

      

மணியத்தின் சித்திரங்களுக்குக் கிட்டிய இரு பாராட்டுகள் குறிப்பிடத் தக்கவை.

 மங்கள நூலகம் "பொன்னியின் செல்வன்" நூலை 'மணிய'த்தின் ஓவியங்களுடன் வெளியிட்டபோது, ராஜாஜி நூல் முன்னுரையில், "மணியத்தின் சித்திரங்கள் யோக்கியனையும் திருடத் தூண்டும் " என்று எழுதினார்! 

மணியம் மறைந்தவுடன், ஓவியப் பிதாமகர் கோபுலு மணியத்தைப் பற்றி 'சாவி'யில் ஒரு கட்டுரை எழுதினார்.

இந்த வருடம் (2022) சென்னை மயிலையில் உள்ள ராமகிருஷ்ணா மிஷன் மாணவர் இல்ல உறைவிட உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளியின் நூற்றாண்டு வருடம்.

" ராமகிருஷ்ண பரமஹம்சரின் சீடரான சுவாமி ராமகிருஷ்ணானந்தரால், 1905 ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்ட மாணவர் இல்லம் தாய், தந்தையை இழந்த ஏழை மாணவர்களுக்கு இலவசமாக கல்வி, உணவு, உடை, உறைவிடம், அளித்து சேவை செய்து வருகிறது.

தமிழகத்தின் மிகப் பழமை வாய்ந்த கல்வி பணியாற்றும் நிறுவனங்களில் ஒன்றான ராமகிருஷ்ண மிஷன் மாணவர் இல்லம் தனது உறைவிட உயர்நிலை பள்ளியின் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவைக் கொண்டாடுகிறது.

ராமகிருஷ்ண மிஷனின் முன்னோடி கல்வி நிறுவனமாக மாணவர் இல்லம் விலங்குகிறது.

மாணவர் இல்லத்தில் ராம கிருஷ்ண மிஷன் பாலிடெக்னி கல்லூரி ராமகிருஷ்ண நூற்றாண்டு தொடக்கப்பள்ளி ஆகியவையும் இயங்கி வருகின்றன."

குடியரசுக் கொண்டாட்டங்கள் ! 

ஜனவரி 26, 1950. முதல் குடியரசு தினம். ‘கல்கி’ குடியரசு மலர் ஒன்றை வெளியிட்டது.   அதில் பாரதியாரின் சில வைர வரிகளுக்கு ஓவியர் சந்திரா வரைந்த இரு ஓவியங்களை இங்கு இடுகிறேன்.

முதலில் ஓவியர் சந்திராவைப் பற்றிக் கல்கி பொன்விழா மலரில் வந்த ஒரு குறிப்பு.

“ சந்திராவின் தனிப்பாணியைப் படத்தைப் பார்க்கும் எவரும் உணரலாம்.  ஒவ்வொரு சிறு அம்சத்தையும் கவனித்து நகாசு வேலை போல் வரம்பு கட்டி வண்ணம் தீட்டுவார். இதனால் ஒவ்வொரு ஓவியமும் தங்கச் சரட்டில் வைரங்கள் பதிந்தது போல் மின்னும் .” 

இளம் வயதிலேயே ஓவியர் சந்திரா மறைந்தது பெரும் இழப்பு.

இந்தக் குடியரசு தினத்தில் இந்தப் பதிவின் மூலம் அவருக்கென் அஞ்சலி.
