Sethu Subramanian

Many people mistake the song "yArO ivar yArO" to be sung by sItA upon seeing rAma because of the usage of the honorific "ivar" used in the song since in previous times it was the practice to use the "ivar" for men and "ivaL" for women. However, the review of the disc in Kalki got it right. Arunacal KavirAyar himself prefaces this song with "sItaiyaik kaNDu rAman aiyural" (rAma upon seeing sItA at the top of the gynecium is wondering who that person is). In addition there are 4 other lines (which nobody sings) which establish beyond doubt (mentioning the female anatomy) that it is rAma who is singing about sItA.
